Event Details:

In May 1974 floodwaters ravaged the Galt core of the new City of Cambridge causing considerable damage. It was a watershed moment for the new city and shaped the community into what we see today. On May 4, the Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre will mark the 50th anniversary of the flood with an event featuring a new exhibit, fire trucks, the city's new water rescue boat, various kiosks and a walk flowing from Civic Square through the flood zone to the Old Post Office Idea Exchange, where there will be a presentation on the flood protection and parks that's been installed in the wake of the flood.
